After doing my usual random googling I found this awesome Electronic DIY Kit site
Some of the kits include things like…
Op-Amp function generator for $7.39
K81 – Kit 81 16C/F84 Development Programmer for under $27.
Now thats a good deal. May have to order one soon.
Also there are several kits with complete schems in PDF format.

There is alot of potential that I see in these kits plus alot of them are super cheap ( $10 and under )
One of the first “No Nos” of circuit bending is modifing anything runs of AC and for a good reason I may add. AC current is extremely DANGEROUS and VOLTAGES present CAN be DEADLY. However that would single out half of the cool stuff out there.
Few weeks ago I picked up a pair of CDJ-1100 and after failing miserably trying to DJ I had better ideas for the units.
Circuit Bend them!
The cases are large and will accomodate alot of switches, contacts, and etc. When avaiable they don’t sell for very much on ebay. Typically between $30 and $80. They do have pitch control and a jog/scratch wheel. Everyone wants to have that on their modded CD players, yet noone ever does. This would be perfect. On top of that they look cool!
After getting bored with all the blogs I started googling for synth stuff and ended up on the PAiA website. Behold they had full schematics for their theremin as well as the building manual. Looks simple enough with only op-amps used it should be fairly cheap to build. The board may be the tricky part, but I imagine point to point will work as well.
A couple of videos are avaliable now. They do include the stereo sound recorded directly from the machine.
For a while I thought it would be a great idea to have a Jameco.com part search plugin for Firefox. It looked like noone had bothered to make one yet, so after spending 15 minutes I created one for everybody to use and enjoy.
Finally I got around to posting a new item. Ofcourse I do have images from the build process and those will be posted in a private gallery soon.
