MEECAS 2011 Experimental Electronics Showcase Oct 22nd.

The 2011 MEECAS “What have you been tinkering with?” event is happening this Saturday Oct 22nd in Chicago, IL at Lizards Liquid Lounge and you can RSVP via facebook. More information here.

CONFERENCE: Noon – Midnight

The MEECAS focuses on an open “horizontal lecture series” structured around free hardware hacking workshops, presentations, demos, lectures, and installations wherein all participants are both teacher and student. The twelve-hour conversation will focus on the past year’s projects, networking, techniques, and setting goals for the electronics community for the next year.

Following our show and workshop at the Fuse Factory in Columbus, OH on Friday and Saturday. Our mini tour will come to conclusion in LaCrosse, WI the Noise City USA on Tuesday Oct 11th. Please stop by at any of those events if you can. We will have most of GetLoFi kits and pedals for sale at the shows.

4th Annual Experimental Garage Sale – 6/4/2011

Hello Friends! It is time again to set your alarms and calendars on June 4th, 2011 for the 4th Annual Experimental Garage Sale! This unique craft fair primarily focuses on circuit bending and DIY musical instruments. This time we have maxed out the Experimental Sound Studio space with 12 sellers who will have plenty circuit bent devices, un-bent toys, electronic parts, kits, experimental instruments, contact microphones, guitar pedals, art, and more. The sale will begin rain or shine at 12:00 PM and last until 6:00 PM.

There will also be an opportunity to walk away with one of the door prizes donated by the sellers if you purchase a ticket for the raffle held at 3:00PM. All proceeds from that will be donated to the Experimental Sound Studio a nonprofit organization hosting our event.

Louisville Experimental Festival 2011 – Updated

It is our pleasure to announce the first ever Louisville Experimental Festival happening on June 21-25 2011 in Louisville, Kentucky. GetLoFi’s Talking Computron will be performing at  Club 21 on June 23rd and Mr Tim Kaiser from Duluth, MN will also be playing there on June 25th. It is fair to say that many of the musicians are not specifically circuit benders, but are rather experimental with free-form and improvisational techniques. Rest assured a good time will be had by all, so see you there!
